Our History
The Quinte Technology Association (QTA) began in 2019 when it was determined that the tech sector in the Quinte region was under-represented. This was supported by the Quinte Economic Development Commission’s Workforce Study an Employment Ontario Project funded in part by and the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario. At that time, the study found there were 84 tech companies employing over 1000 local residents in the Quinte area.
The philosophy was to build the QTA using the Quinte Manufacturers Association model which brings like-minded people and similar companies together to support their sectors in many ways. The QTA continues with this philosophy as it is a proven methodology.
Over the years the QTA members have come together for many different networking events which generally happen every four months. These events include speakers, educational opportunities for business people, tours and more. We look forward to the coming years of continuing to support the tech sector and would like to thank our partners, Quinte Economic Development Commission and the Quinte Manufacturers Association, for their continued support as well.
